Cristian Barron, representing Texas Titans Track and Rockwall High in Texas, won the boys 15-16 2,000-meter steeplechase title in 6:21.19 at the USATF National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships at Hornet Stadium at Sacramento State. Barron also took third in the 1,500-meter final in 4:07.20, finished fifth in the 3,000-meter final in 9:11.74 and contributed to a sixth-place performance in the 4x800-meter relay in 8:51.19.
